Revision of Karnataka Professional Tax Rates Effective from 1st April 2025.

The Government of Karnataka has amended the Karnataka Tax on Profession, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1976. The revised provisions are effective from 1st April 2025 and apply to all individuals and entities covered under the Act.

The amendment modifies Serial Number 1 in the Schedule of the 1976 Act.

> Revised Tax Rates:
  - ₹200 per month for all months except February.
  - ₹300 for the month of February.

The annual professional tax liability is now ₹2,500, up from ₹2,400.

These revised rates are to be followed from the financial year commencing April 2025.

What’s New in EPFO Reforms (2025) 1. Simplified Partial Withdrawal System - Earlier: 13 separate withdrawal types. - Now: Merged into 3 simple categories — faster and easier processing. 2. Shorter Partial Withdrawal Eligibility Period - Earlier: Minimum service period for withdrawal was up to 7 years. - Now: Only 1 year of service required for all withdrawal types. 3. Higher Partial Withdrawal Limit. - Earlier: Could withdraw only employee share + interest (50–100%). - Now: Can withdraw 75% of total amount (including employer share + employee share + interest). 4. The requirement to route online PF transfer claims through either the past or present employer has been removed in specific cases.
